After Arrested Development
Tonight, while watching some Season 2 of Arrested Development, I got to wondering what Mitchell Hurwitz, the creator of the series, was up to now.  Turns out he wrote a script for a pilot of “The Thick of It,” which is based on a BBC series of the same name.  I’ve seen one episode of the original - and it was brilliant and funny. (Think The West Wing meets The Office but meaner.)...

What I have been watching during this writer's...
Star Trek, Season 1  I now know what the T. in James T. Kirk stands for. And I’m not ashamed. Metalocalypse   They took the sad-funny “Some Kind of “Monster” and made it funny-funny.  Plus animation. Helvetica  Watching old white men get all agitated while discussing a typeface font was not as fun as I was thought it would be.   The Wire, Season 1  I’m finally...

One of many great exchanges between Spock and Dr....
Spock: I've noticed that about your people, Doctor. You find it easier to understand the death of one than the death of a million. You speak about the objective hardness of the Vulcan heart, yet how little room there seems to be in yours.
Bones: Suffer the death of thy neighbor, eh Spock? Now you wouldn't wish that on us, would you?
Spock: It might have rendered your history a bit less bloody.
