Last weekend my friend Sean and I went to QuiltCon to see Gina Pina give a demo and take a look at the amazing quilts on display. The quilt above won best in show.
It’s called “Double Edged Love” and was made by Victoria Findlay Wolfe and quilted by Lisa Sipes in NYC. FYI, “made by” means the quilt was conceived of and the different pieces of cloth were sewn by Victoria. “Quilted by” means the top piece and the bottom piece were stitched together with interesting textural top stitching by Lisa using a large quilting machine.
Sorry for my prolonged absence. I’ll be back more this week with a couple more of my favorite quilts from the show. I’m on a sewing kick recently after learning how to use a sewing machine last summer. No quilts for me yet but the QuiltCon was really inspiring.
