The Chinati Foundation has an entire former military base to work with, including tens of empty bunkers. So they give their chosen artists in residence a whole bunker to work with. Here we see one where the artist has chosen to renovate (above) and one the artist has chosen to leave as is, which happens to be the courtyard of School No.6.
This is the last Marfa post of my new year trip. It is cold and overcast in Austin this week and looking at these photos makes me feel warm.
