I crashed the Music Learning Club last night to bother them with my flash. My favorite part of the night was when they practiced Toto’s “Hold the Line.” Can’t wait to see them play a show again.

Sometimes a uke and a kazoo are all you need. Nathan Moore, performing on the back porch at Once Over Coffee last Saturday. Lovely weather, lovely music, lovely people.

I got a chance to see Das Racist on Friday and they were so much fun. From left to right, Victor Vasquez, Himanshu Suri and a blurry Ashok Kondabolu. This was one of fourteen shows they were scheduled to play during SXSW.
My pal Kathryn Yu went to 49 shows and shot all of them. She is amazingly talented and hard-working. You can see her photos at Spin.

Today I met John Vanderslice, and then I got to see him play an amazing set with his incredibly talented drummer-keyboardist. All while hoarding free promotional sunglasses.
